I believe it is safe to say “everyone has been touched by cancer” one way or another. Some deeper than others.
My story began in 2006, when my mom (Irene) was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. The shock rocked through my brother and I like an earthquake. No one likes hearing the “C” word. Life was going to change. We knew we only had one choice and that was to be positive and support mom, Pray and give mom hope. Mom had many rounds of chemo and radiation in the 18 months since she was diagnosed.
In 2008, mom told us she was “cancer free” (a little white lie). It was her story and she was happy but my brother, Bobby and I knew. How could we deny her happiness?
On May 7, 2008, one day after my daughter’s 21st birthday (her granddaughter) mom lost her battle.
With much reflection and passion I knew I needed to honor her life the best I could. Mom always had HOPE! And that is how “BLING BLING IRENE CANCER FOUNDATION” was born.
In October 2022 at a Mastermind Retreat in Paris, BLING BLING IRENE CANCER FOUNDATION was brainstormed with compassionate people to create this legacy for mom. Thank you Paris Peeps for making me go on the Hot Seat and making this dream a reality! I will always be grateful.
